International & Domestic Buyer / Sourcing Manager (Trending Products)

About Role
We are building a fast-moving consumer brand focused on identifying trending and high-demand products and selling across marketplaces such as Amazon and quick-commerce platforms.
We are looking for an experienced International & Domestic Buyer who can source cost-effective, high-quality products from both China and India, negotiate aggressively, manage suppliers, and ensure smooth procurement and imports where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Product Sourcing
- Identify and source trending products from China and India
- Research suppliers via Alibaba, trade fairs, sourcing networks, and Indian manufacturer directories
- Evaluate suppliers on price, MOQ, quality, reliability, and certifications
Negotiation & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate best pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and production timelines
- Work toward improving gross margins
- Conduct landed cost analysis (including duties, freight, GST, etc.)
Quality Control & Production
- Coordinate product sampling and inspection
- Ensure compliance with Indian regulations and certifications (BIS, FSSAI if applicable)
- Monitor production timelines and shipment schedules
Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Coordinate freight forwarders and customs clearance (for imports)
- Manage documentation (HS codes, invoices, certifications, etc.)
- Optimize shipping costs (air vs sea decision making)
- Manage domestic supplier logistics within India
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build long-term supplier relationships in China and India
- Identify backup suppliers to reduce risk
Required skills and Qualification
- 3–7+ years experience in international and/or domestic sourcing
- Experience working with Chinese manufacturers and Indian suppliers
- Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills
- Knowledge of import/export documentation and domestic procurement processes
- Understanding of private label business model
