Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Assistant Manager – Accounts Receivable to oversee and manage the accounts receivable function. This role requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to improve cash flow, monitor aging reports, and ensure timely collections. You will play a key role in maintaining healthy customer relationships and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, payment posting, and collections.
  • Supervise and support the AR team to ensure timely and accurate billing and reconciliation.
  • Monitor accounts and aging reports to identify overdue accounts and proactively follow up for collections.
  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies and ensure adherence to credit policies.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service, Finance) and external customers to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly AR reports and dashboards to present cash flow, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and outstanding balances.
  • Assist in audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives in AR to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team performance; assist with team development plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (MBA/CA Inter preferred).
  • 5–7 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, revenue recognition, and financial principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
